Our Sustainability Mission

At The PinKollective, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the fashion industry by providing stylish and eco-conscious clothing that aligns with our values of sustainability, ethical manufacturing, and transparency. We believe that fashion can be both beautiful and responsible. This commitment drives our efforts to create a brand that prioritises environmental and social responsibility.

The PinKollective categorises its suppliers into four tiers based on their position within the supply chain, following industry standards:

Tier 1 (CMT - Cut/ Make/ Trim): This tier represents the final stage of production where the product is assembled.

Tier 2 (Inputs): These suppliers are involved in processes like dyeing, printing, washing, embroidery, and providing accessories and hardware.

Tier 3 (Fabric): Fabric suppliers are responsible for producing the materials used in our products, involving activities like spinning and weaving, often operating as fabric mills.

Tier 4 (Raw Materials): Raw materials suppliers are the initial stage of the supply chain, responsible for farming, production, or involvement with raw materials at the factory level.

Traceability:

Traceability involves the ability to track all processes from the procurement of raw materials to production, consumption, and disposal. It helps identify where and when products were produced and by whom. While achieving 100% traceability is challenging, The PinKollective is committed to increasing traceability up to Tier 4 by collaborating with lower-tier suppliers and using Ethical Sourcing Software (ESS)

Manufactured Restricted Substances List (MRSL):

The PinKollective prioritises workplace health and safety within the supply chain, ensuring that everyone involved with The PinKollective products is protected. An MRSL has been incorporated into the supply chain, which suppliers must adhere to. Select SKUs are also tested to verify supplier compliance with the MRSL.

Code of Conduct Compliance:

Prior to establishing partnerships, The PinKollective requires its suppliers to demonstrate compliance with its Code of Conduct, ensuring alignment with The PinKollective's values. This Code of Conduct covers various aspects such as:

  • Environment: Suppliers must reduce environmental impact during manufacturing and adhere to the Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) consistently.
  • Human Rights: The PinKollective is committed to safeguarding human rights, including:
    • Child Labor: Aligning expectations with ILO conventions 138 and 182 to prevent child labour.
    • Discrimination/Harassment: Prohibiting discrimination or harassment and promoting gender equality across all business operations.
    • Modern Slavery (including forced labor): Committed to eradicating all forms of modern slavery.
    • Pandemic Protection: Suppliers and factories must have pandemic response measures in place.
    • Workers' Rights: Ensuring respect for workers' rights under local, national, and international laws and regulations, including:
      • Labour Rights: Protecting general labor rights and complying with employment laws.
      • Contracts: Providing written employment contracts to all workers.
      • Freedom of Association: Upholding workers' rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining.
      • Grievance Mechanisms (Workers' Voice): Implementing impartial grievance and complaint mechanisms for employees.
      • Regular Employment: Guaranteeing workers' rights to regular employment and a fair wage.
    • Working Hours/Benefits: Ensuring compensation meets legal minimum wage standards for the worker's country or region.
  • Safe Working Conditions: Upholding safety standards that meet local, national, and international regulations.
  • Traceability/Transparency: Suppliers are expected to disclose their complete supply chain and not subcontract without The PinKollective 's approval.
  • Right to Inspection: The PinKollective reserves the right to inspect all supplier offices and factories involved in any stage of the manufacturing process to ensure Code compliance.

The PinKollective is committed to these principles and values, working closely with our suppliers to create a sustainable supply chain that adheres to strict standards.

We are committed to keeping our customers informed about our progress, challenges, and successes in sustainability. We welcome any feedback and suggestions from our customers and partners on how we can further improve our sustainability efforts.

At The PinKollective, we believe that fashion shouldn't cost the Earth or compromise the well-being of workers. By adhering to the Global Reporting Initiative and upholding our commitment to sustainable and ethical practices, we hope to inspire positive change in the fashion industry and provide our customers with clothing that they can be proud to wear.

Join us in our journey towards a more sustainable and ethical fashion industry. Together, we can make a difference.
